The Kpop industry is made up of the three biggest and most successful entertainment companies:

YG Entertainment

Founded by Yang Hyun Suk, the label strongly influenced by R&B and hip hop, known for their emphasis on artistic freedom and keeping the integrity of music, produces the majority of their own music, the label doesn't focus on looks only on talent, the artists themselves are motivated to work hard
It's home to the artists of Big Bang, 2NE1, Gummy, SE7EN,PSY,EPIK HIGH, Lee Hi 1TYME

SM Entertainment

Founded by Lee Soo-Man, mostly pop music, is credited for starting the hallyu wave, they are the most colorful of the bunch, focuses a lot on looks, doesn't write a lot of their songs, makes artists work really hard, the company I hate the most (no offense) because of its 13 year slave contracts which led to the break up of one of my favorite groups named DBSK (the contracts have also led to other controversies)
It's home to the artists of SHINEE, SNSD, BOA, Super Junior, f(x), EXO, TRAX

JYP Entertainment

Founded by Park Jin-Young, mostly pop music, cares about looks and talents (but looks are important), all songs are produced by JYP himself, makes artists work hard, it's an ok company
It's home to the artists of : 2pm, 2am, Wonder Girls, JOO, Miss A, San E, JJ Project, Baek Yeon, and 15&
